This week we read the parable of the Ten Virgins. In the parable of Ten Virgins their are five wise virgins and five foolish virgins, waiting for the Bridegroom (Christ). Each virgin represents those who profess to be followers of Christ. The wedding in this parable represents the Second Coming and who is prepared and who isn't.
I think that the "Bridegroom" chose the hour of midnight to weed out who was prepared and who wasn't. The wise virgins saved the oil in there lamps so that they would have the light for Christ. The foolish virgins used their oil up before the "bridegroom" appeared and had to leave to try and get more oil. We need to remember to be more like the wise virgins and not the foolish ones. We need to stay close to Christ, by daily scripture study and prayer.
